About A.C. Jeweler
Rob Richards, owner of AC Jewelers in Smithfield, Rhode Island, has been in the jewelry business for more than 30 years. Though the “AC” stands for his two sons, Anthony and Christopher.
Rob started in the jewelry business as a young teen. His mother’s next door neighbor was a diamond setter and would go over and watch him set stones. He became very interested in this skilled trade and asked to learn more. By the age of 18 he was working full time there. Some years later he opened up a shop of his own with a partner from someone he went to high school with.
Now at his own shop, he works alongside his two sons who both work full time for him. Among many other services offered, he still does a lot of repairs for outside stores and stone setting for manufacturers. His specialty is in remounting and custom design work.
